Stada's Sildenafil is an oral medication indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. During sexual arousal, the drug restores reduced erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis.
Sildenafil is rapidly absorbed. Maximum plasma concentrations of the drug are achieved within 30-120 minutes (with a median of 60 minutes) after oral administration on an empty stomach. The average bioavailability after oral administration is 41% (with a range of 25 to 63%). In the recommended dose range (25 to 100 mg), the AUC and maximum concentration of sildenafil after oral administration increase proportionally to the dose.
When sildenafil is administered with food, the extent of absorption is reduced with an average prolongation of Tmax of up to 60 minutes and an average decrease in Cmax of 29%.
Individual intolerance to any components of this product may occur. The male half of the population of the older age group should not abuse this drug, as well as people with heart problems. If a man takes other means to increase potency, then you should not combine them. Contraindications to taking the drug will be ulcers, leukemia, retinitis pigmentosa, duodenal disease.
In studies in volunteers with single doses up to 800 mg, adverse reactions were similar to those observed at lower doses, but the incidence and severity were higher. Doses of 200 mg did not lead to increased effectiveness, but the frequency of adverse reactions increased (headache, hot flashes, dizziness, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, changes in vision).
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, soy, peanuts, Ponceau 4R or any of the excipients.
Consistent with known effects on the nitric oxide/cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) pathway (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics under Actions), sildenafil has been shown to potentiate the hypotensive effects of nitrates, as well as its concomitant use with nitric oxide donors (such as as amyl). nitrite) or nitrates in any form are therefore contraindicated.
Sildenafil is contraindicated in patients with vision loss in one eye due to non-arterial anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), whether or not the episode was related to previous exposure to a PDE5 inhibitor (see Precautions).
