Cutting is a very important stage for a bodybuilder. The goal is to burn fat while maintaining the muscle mass gained during the previous period.
As a result, the bodybuilder will look more muscular, as the tone increases and the waist decreases significantly.
The main problem that our bodybuilding patients face is the loss of muscle mass, which can be prevented by taking the following steroids for weight loss:
- Anavar
- Winstrol
- Primobolan
- Masteron
- Proviron
Anavar
Anavar (Oxandrolone) is potentially the most useful anabolic steroid when cutting.
It is anabolic, so users will build muscle during contractions, but it also has powerful lipolytic properties, making Anavar a master fat burner.
Those taking Anavar experience a decrease in subcutaneous and visceral fat mass.
A common complaint among bodybuilders going through selection is the depletion of glycogen stores, which leads to muscle atrophy and loss of strength.
Anavar increases glycogen stores, producing exceptionally full muscles and great pumps during workouts.
Anavar also significantly increased strength gains in our patients, which is impressive since it is usually the muscle-building steroids that provide the most noticeable strength gains.
Anavar also has mild side effects, so we usually don’t notice any significant negative reactions when cycling this steroid on our own. Testosterone suppression is not extreme, with levels recovering and normalizing within a few weeks (for most users).
Even though Anavar is an oral steroid, it does not pose much of a risk to the liver, as the kidneys help process Anavar, taking the strain off the liver.
One of the downsides of Anavar is the price, it is often counterfeited on the black market. If users are diligent, they can purchase a cycle of Anavar for a couple of hundred dollars.
However, the price for pharmaceutical-grade Anavar will most likely be several hundred dollars.
Therefore, Anavar is not the best choice for a low budget steroid cycle.

Winstrol
Winstrol (Stanozolol) is an anabolic steroid that works similarly to Anavar, building muscle and burning fat in nearly equal amounts. Winstrol also does not aromatize, which causes the muscles to look dry and grainy.
We have found that Winstrol is slightly more effective for gaining muscle mass for beginner users than Anavar, however it causes many more side effects.
Winstrol has been shown to increase blood pressure, increase testosterone suppression, acne, hair loss, and liver toxicity in bodybuilders (compared to Anavar).
Winstrol also does not produce the same muscle fullness as Anavar, often leaving muscles looking flat or wasted.
However, Winstrol is cheaper than Anavar, making it a more affordable drug. That is why Winstrol is sometimes called the poor man's Anavar. Nevertheless, Winstrol is one of the best steroids for cutting.

Primobolan
Injectable Primobolan (Methenolone) is a very mild side effect steroid that first became popular in the 1970s during the "golden era" and was rumored to be Arnold's favorite steroid.
We believe that the benefit-to-side effect ratio of Primobolan is very positive, which is why users often use it for long periods of time (up to 10 weeks).
Primobolan does not promote water retention, making it beneficial for maximum muscle tone and a lean physique.
We don't see Primobolan providing significant muscle gains, but subtle increases in muscle size are common when using this drug while on a strict diet. Fat burning is also enhanced, helping users quickly reach their desired body fat percentage.
Primobolan is often combined with other drugs to achieve higher results, for example with trenbolone or halotestin (when cutting).
Note: Primobolan is expensive, as is Anavar. We found both to be the most expensive steroids on the market.

Masteron
Masteron (Drostanolone) is an injectable steroid that was introduced in the 50s and became popular in bodybuilding circles in the 70s.
Masteron was not developed for anabolism, but to help women treat breast cancer.
However, due to its strong anti-estrogenic effect, it has been shown to be able to increase lean muscle mass without water retention, making it a suitable steroid for cutting muscle mass.
We consider Masteron to be a more powerful version of Proviron (which is presented below).

- Very androgenic in practice
- Overwhelming
- Moderately cardiotoxic
Proviron
Proviron (Mesterolone) is an oral steroid that allows you to get a dry physique with pronounced blood vessels.
Proviron increases metabolism, promoting fat loss while providing a slight increase in muscle mass.
The effect of Proviron in terms of drying the body can be immediate: it acts within a few hours.
Some of our patients like the sudden effect on blood vessels and take Proviron on the day of a photo shoot or competition to look more defined.
Proviron also works as a synergist, helping to enhance the effects of other steroids when taken together. Proviron is often added to injectable steroids for gain enhancement, such as trenbolone or testosterone.
As for side effects, we generally register weak interactions compared to other anabolic steroids. However, Proviron can affect cholesterol levels by increasing LDL levels.
However, Proviron is unlikely to have much of an effect on blood pressure due to its diuretic properties, which means it reduces blood viscosity.

Other steroids for cutting
There are other drugs that bodybuilders use to reduce fat mass (they are not officially steroids), such as clenbuterol and cytomel (T3).
Our patients typically use them before competitions to help them burn as much fat as possible. They do not have a significant anabolic effect, so users will not gain significant muscle mass.
However, when taking clenbuterol, the metabolism increases dramatically, which leads to a sharp increase in calorie expenditure. When taking Cytomel, the level of T3 increases - a powerful thyroid hormone that directly affects fat stores, causing significant weight loss.
